Tiles:

Prices for the following tiles do not include portraits.

4x4 inch tile is $25.00 - $35.00 per tile depending on difficulty of design.
(9 tiles to a square foot)

6x6 inch tile is $30.00 - $40.00 per tile (4 tiles to a square foot)

8x10, 12x12, or other size single tile starts at $125.00 – ask for details

Sample color tile $35.00 each. This is in addition to the cost of the hand painted mural or custom sink. There are no refunds for test samples.


Sinks:

Base price for painting a drop-in sink starts at $350.00. A more complex design may require additional time for painting and firing which may result in an additional cost.

Base price for the painting of a pedestal sink starts at $500.00.

FAQ

All of my work is original and no decals or transfers are used. Each project is carefully designed and painted then kiln fired to temperatures between 1,300 and 1,500 degrees to insure maturity of colors and permanent fusion.

Most projects require multiple firings to achieve the depth of color and detail.

Q) Is the paint permanent – Will it wash off ?

(A) The paint is kiln fired which results in a permanent fusion. Clean up with non-abrasive cleanser is recommended for proper care.

Q) Will you use my ideas?

(A) Absolutely! We would be happy to apply your ideas, logo’s or designs to a custom sink or hand painted tile design. Any copy right designs must have proper release.

Q) Can you match colors and styles?

(A) In most cases, yes. We recommend you send us paint chips from the paint store, samples of fabric, wallpaper or any items that would help with the designing process. .

Q) Who provides the tiles?

(A) In most cases, you will want to use tiles from your existing or future project to be consistent with tile color and size. Tiles must be porcelain or ceramic. Natural stone tiles cannot be fired in the kiln. An extra 4 - 6 extra tiles are needed in the event of breakage during the shipping or firing process. Any unused tile can be returned with completed project if needed. If you do not have tile we can purchase the tile locally. Tiles of all sizes can be painted from wall tile to large commercial floor tile.

Q) Who provides the sinks?

(A). If you have a porcelain or vitreous china sink that you wish to be painted, it must be a new (unused) sink. You are welcome to order a sink and ship it to us for painting. Most local chain stores offer ordering and shipping services, or you are welcome to visit our “Links” pages for other supply options. Arrangements can also be made for us to purchase the sink locally.

Q) Does the brand or type of sink matter?

(A) We are able to paint on any brand of sink as long as it is a porcelain or vitreous china sink.

Q) Can I get a sample tile?

(A) Yes. We can arrange for a sample tile to be shipped to you which would be an indication of colors and a feel for the completed piece. These sample tiles are on either 4x4 or 6x6 ceramic tiles. The cost for a sample tile is $35.00 plus shipping.

Q) How long does it take?

(A) This varies based on the current work in process. Typically we strive for 6-8 weeks after design layout has been approved, materials acquired and deposit received. If there is a firm “need by date” please indicate so, and we can discuss the options to arrive at the specific time. Any rush orders will incur a surcharge.

Q) How do we get started?

A typical process flows as follows:

You contact us regarding your needs and ideas. We discuss the design and project to be considered. Any artwork or designs can be mailed to us or sent via email. The colors however, should be sent via mail as the computer can distort the actual colors desired.

We provide you with a quote and an estimated completion date. If this meets your approval, we ask for a 50% deposit upfront to begin the work.

The sink, tile or supplies are ordered by either yourself or by us as discussed in our consultation.

When work begins on your project, the design is sketched onto the tile or sink and sent to you via email. We review the design to see if any changes are needed and get a feel for the overall flow of the design.

Next, paint is applied to the project and again emailed to you for review. With approval, if needed, we will then fire the project. The firing process does alter and change some of the colors so the project after firing if often more beautiful than the pictures prior to firing. This painting step is repeated until the design is completed.

The remaining balance is billed and due for the completed project. When final payment is received, the completed project is then boxed up very carefully and securely for shipment and sent by a carrier insured to its value. You will receive a shipping confirmation to track the process. Although damage is rare, it is important that the shipment be inspected by you as soon as possible to report any damage to the shipping carrier.
